Ruskeat Tytöt is back with a second spoken word and poetry night. “Relationships/Suhteet” asks you to think outside the box: what kind of relationships are you part of? What other relationships do you share with say, a friend, a sibling or a parent – what other relationships could you share? Perhaps a sibling is also a superior, a partner, a customer or a friend a teacher. Whatever it may be, we want to dedicate an evening to the intricacies of relationships by exploring their many layers and the surprising forms they may take. We ask you and one or more persons you share a relationship with to prepare a piece of poetry or spoken word and share it at our event in mid-May.
Each performance has been allocated a time slot of maximum 15 minutes. You may choose which language(s) you want to perform in. Our only wishes in terms of content is that each performer’s voice would be present in the content. Your content should look like you. Our event is also a safe space, so discriminatory or harrassive content is not tolerated.
All participants are asked to perform in groups or pairs, for example a parent and a child or two or mores friends, partners, a customer and a shopkeep, a student and a teacher, etc. Relationship or Suhteet can a very open and we encourage all participants to interrupt the word’s meaning in their own way.
Please feel free to share anyone who you think would be interested in participating. If they prefer to email in Finnish they can contact the co-organizer: vaeodum(at)gmail.com.
