A global Somali Diaspora conference will tomorrow kick-off in Istanbul under the theme “toward a unified Somali Diaspora community”.

 

The two days conference Is the first of its kind to be held for the Somali Diaspora community is expected to discuss many issues including:

 

The Diaspora role and contribution to national building and public service development.

 

Diaspora participation in local investment and economic development in the private sector.

 

Discuss ways to strengthen the cooperation of Somali Diaspora communities and their relations with the government and homeland.

 

Identify major challenges and obstacles that may affect and weaken the role of Diaspora in positively towards Somalia’s progress.

 

Meanwhile, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Emrullah Isler, is intended to attend the symposium among other delegations.
